World Vision Raising Funds for Lebanon

Situation made more critical with Winter coming

World Vision Raising Funds for Lebanon

International humanitarian organisation, World Vision, is seeking to raise a total of USD 5 million (around RM21 million) to ensure that the organisation can continue to reach the most vulnerable affected by the conflict.

Since mid-September 2024, Lebanon has witnessed a severe escalation in violence, with large-scale airstrikes, shelling, and destruction of civilian infrastructure. The number of deaths has reached 2,000, including at least 127 children. Nearly 9,400 have been injured and over 1 million people have been forced to flee their homes.

The rise in conflict is now affecting more than 12,000 children across the areas where World Vision operates. The majority of the organisation’s children-related activities have been paused and lifesaving activities are ongoing in all locations.

Schools are closing, with most being converted into collective shelters. These shelters do not have resources – including proper hygiene and protection arrangements. More than 155,600 people, half of them women and children, have sought safety at over 875 temporary shelters across Lebanon.

World Vison is already on ground supporting the affected communities in Lebanon. This includes providing food, Non-Food Items (fuel, hygiene kits etc.) and protection interventions.

The humanitarian organisation hopes that Malaysians who are able will support its fund-raising efforts by donating to its World Vision’s Middle East Crisis Response for Lebanon. The situation is made all the more urgent and critical with the fast-approaching winter.

For around RM120 you can provide a family of 5 with a hygiene kit for one month.
For around RM290 you can provide nutritious hot meals for one beneficiary for one month.
For around RM290 you can provide a child with 12 Psychosocial Support sessions.
For around RM990 you can sustain three families of 5 for one month with sufficient fuel for winter.
For around RM8,260 you can provide electricity at night for one collective shelter over one month.
