Kuala Lumpur, 27 February 2024 Vietjet Air announced the commencement of its new flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s economic hub, to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. This direct service, the first and only in the market, aims to improve time and cost efficiency for travellers between the two destinations, expanding opportunities for tourism, trade, and economic development.

Leaders from the Consul General of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City, Department of Civil Aviation of Laos (DCAL), Airports of Laos (AOL), Wattay International Airport, and Vietjet attended the inauguration ceremony at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Wattay International Airport. They extended their congratulations to Vietjet for this innovative service and welcomed the first passengers on the debut flights.

The Ho Chi Minh City – Vientiane route serves passengers with four return flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, providing a complete flying experience to the “Land of a Million Elephants” in just 1 hour and 45 minutes of flying.
