Kuala Lumpur, 13 February 2024 – Vietjet recently celebrated the onset of the Lunar New Year by introducing a direct service between Ho Chi Minh City and Chengdu. The new service provides travellers with an additional travel opportunity for the holidays and further enhances the air connectivity between Vietnam and China, fostering increased trade and tourism between the two nations and throughout the region.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Mr. Wei Huaxiang, Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City and Mr. Michael Hickey, Vietjet’s Chief Operating Officer, at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The Ho Chi Minh City – Chengdu route operates one daily return flight, totaling seven round-trips on a weekly basis, with a flight time of over four hours per leg. The flights from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City take off at 19:10 (local time) and land in Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) at 00:15 the next day (local time). The return journey from Chengdu takes off at 00:50 (local time) and arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 03:55 (local time).
