Kuala Lumpur, 19 June 2024 – With the summer peak season on the horizon, Vietjet is expanding travel options for beach lovers by increasing flights to Vietnam’s top coastal destinations, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc, while extending its international footprint.
Vietjet has launched its first-ever flights connecting Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s beach paradise, with two Taiwanese cities, Kaohsiung and Taichung. Operations on the Phu Quoc-Taichung route commenced on June 13, offering three return flights weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The Phu Quoc-Kaohsiung service began a day later, with four round trips each week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. These additions establish Vietjet as the sole airline offering non-stop flights between Phu Quoc and Taiwan’s three largest cities—Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Taichung, totaling 9 Vietnam-Taiwan services.
Simultaneously, Vietjet has increased frequencies on the direct route connecting Phu Quoc with Seoul (Incheon International Airport) from 2 to 3 return flights daily starting June 14. From July 19, the airline will double its flight frequency between Nha Trang and Busan, offering two round trips daily. This expansion results in Vietjet providing up to 21 return flights daily, equivalent to 147 return flights weekly, between Vietnam and South Korea.
These strategic moves cater to the growing demand from travellers attracted to Vietnam’s stunning beaches, rich historical and cultural heritage, and diverse culinary offerings. Currently, the airline operates eleven direct services linking Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, and Hai Phong with Seoul and Busan.
With Vietjet’s extensive network in Vietnam, Malaysian passengers now have additional flight options to these Vietnamese destinations, with convenient transit options available in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition to increasing flight frequencies, Vietjet has recently added 1.4 million seats to its domestic flight network and launched several new international routes.
To celebrate these expansions, Vietjet offers a major promotion every Friday until the year’s end. Passengers can book international flight tickets via www.vietjetair.com or the Vietjet Air mobile app, with fares starting from just RM 120 all-in. All Vietjet passengers receive complimentary SkyCare travel insurance, providing extensive benefits and 24/7 global medical and travel support services.
Located off Vietnam’s southwest coast, Phu Quoc is renowned for its year-round mild climate, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and long white-sand beaches, complemented by world-class resorts. International travellers can also benefit from Vietnam’s visa exemption scheme, allowing stays of up to 30 days on the island.
Nha Trang, situated along Vietnam’s South Central coastline, has become increasingly popular among tourists. The city offers a blend of cultural attractions, recreational activities, and delectable seafood, making it a favoured destination for both local and international travellers.
With these expansions, Vietjet strengthens its position as a leading airline, offering convenient and affordable connectivity with a modern, eco-friendly fleet and excellent services delivered by a dedicated and professional cabin crew. Passengers can indulge in gourmet Vietnamese and international cuisine, enjoy exclusive duty-free shopping, and access a range of convenient amenities throughout their journey.
