Sepang, 15 October 2024 – With the esports scene gaining traction locally, Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang (MOP KLIA), in collaboration with Kohai, Malaysia’s leading esports super app, witnessed an impressive turnout of over thousand united gamers and esports enthusiasts at its inaugural ‘Immortal Legends’ Tournament held on the weekend of 12 October and 13 October 2024.

The ‘Immortal Legends’ Tournament provided a platform for up-and-coming gamers to compete in two of Southeast Asia’s most popular mobile gaming titles, Mobile Legends Bang Bang and PUBG Mobile. A total of 64 teams from the respective gaming titles battled through three weeks of intense competition, with 16 teams advancing to semi-final and final rounds at MOP KLIA, all vying for a total prize pool of RM10,000.

TJ Cheah, Deputy Managing Director of MFMA Development Sdn. Bhd. shared his excitement about partnering with Kohai to bring the ‘Immortal Legends’ Tournament to life at MOP KLIA.

The two-day event culminated in the grand finale, where each player performed with precision, covering their teammates and adapting to unpredictable encounters, while excited spectators cheered as they watched the intense battles displayed on large screens at the center stage of the mall.  Following a series of intense gunfights, the victorious team emerged from the chaos, showcasing exceptional teamwork and strategic prowess. For Mobile Legends Bang Bang, team Team Rocket emerged as the champion while team TODAK was crowned winner of the PUBG Mobile.

For non-players and casual visitors, the mall also offered firsthand experience to try out the latest game updates at interactive gaming stations featuring PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends, including exciting heroes, skins, and maps. The event also featured the Funmatch booth, where participants competed alongside well-known esports figures such as Gojes from Selangor Red Giants for special giveaways.

Additionally, fans also took the opportunity to meet and greet professional esports players, from HomeBois and Selangor Red Giants, in dedicated areas where they interacted, took photos, and participated in Kohai Sembang LIVE sessions with personalities like Daddyhood and Boss Simon.

Adding to the prestige of the event was the first-ever showcase of the Mobile Legends: SouthEast Asia Cup (MSC) Trophy Malaysia at the mall, drawing excitement from fans eager to take photos of the coveted trophy. Apart from that, exclusive promotions and giveaway throughout the event, created an all-encompassing experience for both gamers and shoppers alike.
