The Malaysia Pavilion at Tokyo Game Show 2024 Sees Potential Export Value of USD67.11 Million

Cyberjaya, 17 October 2024 – The Malaysia Pavilion, held at the major global gaming event, Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2024, successfully concluded with more than 150 business meetings were conducted between the Malaysian and Japanese gaming companies, with potential sales of USD67.11 million. TGS 2024 hosted a record-high number of 274, 739 visitors, 985 companies and organisations from 44 countries and regions during the four-day event.

This year, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) partnered with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) to create collaboration opportunities for Malaysian game developers at the Malaysia Pavilion. For the past eight years, both agencies have proudly represented Malaysia at TGS, showcasing the country’s growing influence in the gaming sector.

The pavilion, that was held from 26 to 29 September 2024, featured 10 leading Malaysian gaming studios specialising in game development and visual effects (VFX). These studios have contributed to various stages of video game production, from pre-production to publishing. The 10 companies represented at TGS2024 include:

V. eSolved MSC- Malaysia’s first meta commerce platform, Youniverse, connects virtual and real-world experiences by providing an interactive space for users. (https://youniverse.game/)
