Subang Jaya, 6 November 2024 – Taylor’s University School of Architecture, Building and Design has been awarded the 1st Prize in the Innovative Curriculum Category at the Anugerah Khas YB Menteri Pendidikan Tinggi (AKRI2024).

This recent prestigious award ceremony, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, recognises and promotes exceptional contributions to innovative teaching and curriculum design in Malaysian higher education.

The award-winning project, titled “Future Ready Architects: Transforming Lives, Empowering Changemakers,” was spearheaded by a dynamic team of educators, including Associate Professor Dr Veronica Ng Foong Peng, Mohd Adib Bin Ramli, Dr Fitizani Illia Ibrahim, and Ts Bashira Mohd Bahar. Their innovative curriculum, which received RM 10,000 in cash, a trophy, and a certificate of appreciation, equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to address contemporary challenges in architecture and urban design.

Led by Dr Aqliah Yaacob, Dr Chan Sook Wah, Ms Affezah Ali, Dr Karen Tsen Mung Khie, and Dr Leow Yen Mee, this initiative received RM 3,000 in cash, a trophy, and a certificate of appreciation, showcasing the university’s commitment to innovative teaching practices that foster student engagement and learning.

Additionally, Taylor’s University celebrated recognition as a finalist for the project “Purpose-Led and Impact-Driven Project: My Bamboo & GreenBliss Fiesta,” further underscoring its dedication to sustainability and community-focused education.
