- 42 Iskandar Puteri invites all Malaysians keen to learn coding and be future-ready
- No prior coding or programming knowledge required and all above 17 years of age and especially SPM students waiting for their results are highly encouraged to join
Sunway City Iskandar Puteri, 24 January 2024 — Sunway’s 42 Iskandar Puteri (42IP) is inviting all Malaysians keen to learn coding to participate in a free 26-day coding bootcamp by taking a fun logic game on their newly launched website (42iskandarputeri.edu.my).
42IP, located in Sunway Iskandar Puteri, is a coding school with zero fees, zero teachers and zero traditional classrooms, offering an innovative education model designed to develop the skills needed to jumpstart a career in tech through a project-based learning approach.
This unique, disruptive, free-education model is part of the 42 campus that was first established in Paris, France with the second in Silicon Valley, United States of America. 42, a globally renowned education network, is known for its peer-to-peer learning environment, project-based approach, and gamified curriculum. 42KL in Sunway City Kuala Lumpur is the first in Malaysia and among the first such campuses in Southeast Asia.
42 Iskandar Puteri is the second addition to the esteemed network of campuses under 42 Malaysia, a nation-building joint venture initiative between Sunway Education Group and Khazanah Nasional Berhad which underscores a collective commitment to advancing Malaysia’s digital landscape.
“We are thrilled to bring forth a new era of coding education to a broader audience. 42 Iskandar Puteri marks a significant milestone as 42 Malaysia extends its reach to the southern region, enhancing accessibility for students to embark on a transformative learning journey,” said Jeff Sandhu, Chief Operating Officer of 42 Malaysia.
“This represents our commitment to fostering digital skills and empowering aspiring individuals across Malaysia to explore the world of coding and kickstart their journey towards a rewarding tech career. Our goal is to develop 10,000 tech talents in the next 10 years, advancing Malaysia into a more digitally-savvy nation,” he added.
The 42 programme offers an unparalleled educational opportunity to all Malaysians, regardless of academic background, gender and socioeconomic status. With a commitment to providing equal opportunities for individuals to pursue computer science, admissions to 42 campuses are entirely merit-based. This ensures that individuals with the passion and dedication to learn can access this completely free programme.
The 42 programme provides an immersive, hands-on experience where students actively learn with their peers by working on projects. This not only enhances their practical proficiency but also cultivates essential soft skills that effectively bridge the gap for industry demands, preparing students to thrive in the professional world.
To join the programme, candidates are required to play a game that assesses their logical thinking and memory. Successful candidates are then invited to participate in a 26-day coding boot camp, called the Piscine, where they learn the basics of coding through projects, exams, and peer evaluations.
The 26-day coding bootcamp, or Piscine, is a prelude to an extensive 12 to 18 months programme at 42KL called the Core Programme which provides extensive training in more advanced coding projects that encompass real-world applications.
As the 26-day coding bootcamp applications open for its inaugural intake in Q2 2024, interested applicants are encouraged to register by playing the game before April 2024. Visit 42iskandarputeri.edu.my to uncover your coding potential.
