Pepsi presents winners with ‘prizes of the future’

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 September 2018 – Promising to bring a bolder taste with no calorie, world-renowned cola-flavoured beverage, Pepsi, wants to congratulate the two lucky grand prize winners of its “Futuristic Monobike” contest. The contest was held in collaboration with Shell with the aim of providing Malaysians with the ultimate experience while enjoying the great cola taste with no calorie.

The “Futuristic Monobike” contest also marks Pepsi’s first time partnering with Shell for this execution. The collaboration was launched as a way to invoke excitement among consumers in winning prizes like no other, along with enjoying the bold and zero-sugar taste that Pepsi has to offer.

The contest mechanics were simple. From 1st April to 30th April 2018, participants needed to purchase 2 bottles of Pepsi Black PET 400ml in a single receipt at participating Shell outlets. They were then required to answer a simple question and send the answer to the number provided via WhatsApp, together with their details and a clear photo of the whole receipt as proof of purchase. Winners were selected based on the highest number of entries sent in.

As consumers were racing towards winning the grand prizes of the exclusive ‘Pepsi Monobike’, lucky winners, Bong Wan Sing and Norlita binti Mohtar were in luck as they both individually won a Pepsi Monobike. Unable to contain her excitement, Ms. Wan Sing said, “It really was a huge surprise for me to win a one-of-a-kind prize from Pepsi which has never been done before. It’s incredible that it belongs to me”.

“My son and I love Pepsi. Drinking a bottle of cold Pepsi under our hot weather feels like we’re in paradise. Thank you very much to Pepsi for giving me such a huge toy!” she added. Ms. Norlita binti Mohtar, who also walked away with the grand prize said, “I was excited beyond words when I found out about the big win”.

“The taste of the new Pepsi Black is really delicious. I would also like to thank Pepsi and Etika Sdn Bhd for the amazing prize,” she concluded. Adding on to the excitement, more prizes were given away to the rest of the winners. The rewards included five MacBook Air 128GB each for first prize winners, five iPhone 8 64GB each for second prize winners and RM100 cash vouchers to the 100 consolation winners.
