GCCEC has also created an event emissions calculator which can provide emissions estimates for the Centre’s different event spaces, helping event planners understand the carbon footprint of their events.

Darwin Convention Centre transforms with vibrant First Nations artistry – Northern Territory

Darwin Convention Centre has partnered with Winya, a profit-for-purpose business supporting Indigenous training and employment, to revamp its venue furniture with textiles designed by local Larrakia artists. The ethically sourced and sustainably manufactured textiles have transformed the venue with a vibrant display of First Nations artistry that celebrates the rich cultural heritage, colours and stories of the Darwin/Larrakia region. The project follows the Centre’s recent initiative to rename four of its meeting rooms with traditional Larrakia names as part of its commitment to reconciliation and to aid 
guests in gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of local culture while visiting the city.
