Next-Level Learning for All Ages: Malaysia’s Largest Family Edutainment Theme Park, NEXTGEN, Opens in 1 Utama

Officially recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records as Malaysia’s largest edutainment theme park, spanning over 45,000 sq. ft.
Features five exciting zones full of fun learning activities that are tailored to different age groups, from toddlers up to the elderly
Within the first two months of its opening, the theme park attracted over 100,000 visitors from all age groups

Kuala Lumpur, 3 January 2023 — Introducing a new, all-ages-inclusive approach to educational fun, NEXTGEN Theme Park has officially opened its first outlet in 1 Utama. Recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records as Malaysia’s largest indoor edutainment theme park, NEXTGEN is a one-stop for fun learning activities that transcend generations, from toddlers and teens to adults and the elderly.

Driven by a goal to provide children with learning environments outside the classroom that can also engage entire families together, NEXTGEN features five experiential zones that cater to different age groups and levels of growth: Entertainment, Enrichment, Experience, Engagement, and Empowerment.

The 45,000 sq. ft. space is home to a variety of enriching, family-friendly attractions and mini-games, including infant play areas, obstacle courses, a sky-themed playground with rainbow slides, e-gaming zones, and even a karaoke centre!

As parents ourselves, we genuinely believe that happy families start with being involved in our children’s growth and development. Since time spent together at a young age is so important, we wanted to create a space that can help the next generation learn through fun while also bonding with their loved ones. NEXTGEN is a happy memory factory where family members — from the young to the old — have a place to relax, learn, and most importantly, have a fun time together,” said Lilian Chan, co-founder of NEXTGEN Theme Park.

Looking to establish themselves a social and lifestyle hub, NEXTGEN’s facilities also include spaces for visitors to hone their dancing and singing skills, with social interaction areas interspersed between their many enrichment classes. Through this arrangement, the theme park effectively caters to three domains of learning: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor.

NEXTGEN’s launch comes with the edutainment market growing substantially worldwide, with an expected valuation of US$3.45 billion by 2028.

Leroy Lee, fellow co-founder of NEXTGEN, further added, “Entertainment and technology has been changing every aspect of society, and we hope to apply that to take our education industry to the next level as well. This NEXTGEN centre is only the first of many that we aim to establish, helping kids develop a myriad of skills while having fun. As the name implies, we want to help build the next generation — one that is ultimately thriving, happy, and positive.”

Within just two months of its soft launch, the edutainment park attracted scores of visitors, numbering over 100,000 people from all age groups. NEXTGEN is set to expand further in the Klang Valley and the southern region of Malaysia in the second quarter of the year, with two new outlets in Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Bahru and KSL Mall, Klang.
