Sheraton Kunming’s design takes cue from the historic Tea Horse Road (Cha Ma Gu Dao)–the ancient trade routes in southwest China where one can immerse in the colorful local minority cultures. When guests step into the lobby, they will be welcomed by a stunning painting depicting iconic scenic spots such as Stone Forest, Red River Terraces and Lijiang ancient town in Yunnan. Two magnificent and sturdy wooden horses in the lobby remind guests of the ancient folk international trade channel, for which the horse gang was the main means of transportation. The lobby design also pays tribute to Kunming’s beautiful rivers, mountains and the history of Yunnan with a grand wall decoration made of movable type printing artworks of Chinese calligraphy.
Premium facilities, and elevated guest experiences create a warm and welcoming setting that makes the hotel an ideal gathering place for business and leisure travelers, as well as the local community. All 427 spacious and well-appointed guestrooms feature embroidery craft with decorative patterns of ethnic minority totems and the sceneries along the ancient Tea Horse Road. Each room is equipped with plush bedding, thoughtful amenities and innovative services such as an artificial intelligence voice assistant used to control lights, curtains and the room temperature.
