Petaling Jaya, 25 January 2022 – MARGMA Foundation recently sponsored RM44,000 for a National Science Fair for Young Children (SFYC) 2021 organised by the Association of Science Technology and Innovation (ASTI). The programme is held annually among Tamil schools in Malaysia to encourage and strengthen the learning of science among school children. Science Fair has been a platform and an opportunity for young children to showcase their scientific knowledge and skills. This year, being the biggest Science Fair organised by ASTI, saw a total of 600 schools participating at its Zone Level Science Fair with a total of 100 schools being shortlisted thereafter for the national level SFYC.
SFYC which has been conducted continuously for the past 14 years have seen some of its participating teams gone on to win international awards in Beijing, New York, Seoul, Jakarta, London and other places.
“As the country and industry move toward IR4.0, there will be multiplier effect for future talents needed in high skilled categories such as electronics & electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and mechatronics engineers. Therefore encouraging science and science base education and subjects are key to building a good future talent pool. Award and prize giving ceremony was held virtually on 23rd October 2021.
