Kuala Lumpur, 22 October – JIMMYSCARVES, the local hijab brand known for its modern take on the tudung labuh today expands their line with a new addition to the parent brand, a modest clothing line for the modern hijabi called JIMMY NOUR. This launch is also in conjunction with the move of their boutique to a newer, larger, chic space that also accommodates a studio for both product and promotional shoots.

The 2,800 sqft boutique, located in Sendayan Metro Park in Bandar Seri Sendayan, Seremban will offer JIMMYSCARVES’ customers an elevated shopping experience, complete with aesthetically pleasing changing rooms and a spacious waiting area, allowing customers to walk in and comfortably try on the pieces themselves.

On the launch of JIMMY NOUR, Jimmy, who founded JIMMYSCARVES back in 2017 said, “The modest fashion industry has been growing in the recent years, and I have been noticing that the demand does not come from just from hijabis, but from women from all walks of life. I believe that modest fashion is more than just covering up – many said it makes them feel more confident and comfortable, and this is what JIMMY NOUR is – stylish attire for modern ladies of today.”

Crafting A Muslim Fashion Identity Through JIMMY NOUR

The modest wear market has long been a thriving industry in Muslim countries. But with the rise of influential fashion bloggers and models like Dina Tokio, Hana Tajima and Halima Aden promoting modest fashion, more western countries are starting to tap into this lucrative industry. Mainstream high end as well as high street brands are coming out with their own line of modest clothing, contributing to the growth of this industry. In fact, according to a 2018 report by Dinar Standard and Reuters, Muslim consumers spent an estimated $270 billion on modest fashion in 2017, compared with $243 billion in 2015. Sales are expected to reach $361 billion by 2023.

At JIMMY NOUR, a selection of modest but contemporary shirts, blouses, along with pants and long skirts are crafted as basic pieces that can be mixed and matched for a look that is not only fashionable but still sharia compliant.

Known for their unique prints and signature awning design in their hijab line, JIMMYSCARVES originally began as one of the brands which took off from Instagram, offering a fresher take on tudung labuh (wide, elongated hijabs) before expanding their product range to include hijab accessories, such as twillies, brooches and inners.

The launch will also be accompanied by the release of several JIMMYSCARVES’ latest hijab collections which includes instant bawals and shawls, square scarves with new satin material, and various wide hijabs and shawls that come in plain and printed versions. Understanding that JIMMYSCARVES’ customers are from all over Malaysia and to observe the social distancing rules, JIMMYSCARVES is celebrating the launch with an online sale with special price and discounts for all new launch collections, starting from today until 31st of October.
