Kuala Lumpur, 10 September – Malaysia’s premier, purpose-built venue, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre), is proud to announce its inaugural win of Sustainable Convention Centre award at the esteemed M&C Asia Stella Awards, held last week at The Londoner, Macao. This prestigious recognition underscores the venue’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and its dedication to creating a positive impact on the business events industry.
The M&C Asia Stella Awards celebrates excellence in the meetings, incentives and conferences and exhibitions sector. The Sustainable Convention Centre category honours venues that demonstrate exceptional leadership in sustainable practices, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.
“We are thrilled to receive this prestigious award, which validates our ongoing efforts to present a truly sustainable and responsible venue to all our guests,” said Robert Hatton-Jones, Deputy General Manager of the Centre, in his acceptance speech. “This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our team, who have not only tirelessly worked to implement innovative sustainability initiatives but also continue to finetune them to ensure optimised sustainability performance.”
The Centre’s long-standing commitment to sustainability is reflected in some of its notable achievements. These include implementation of energy-efficient meeting technologies, opting for renewable energy, industry-leading food waste management and practices, offering end-to-end solutions to reduce events’ environmental impacts as well as forging strategic and working partnerships in promoting a sustainable destination to the international business events community.
