Kuala Lumpur, 26 October 2023- The Malaysian Timber Council (MTC), in collaboration with the Malaysian Wood Moulding and Joinery Council (MWMJC), the Malaysian Furniture Council (MFC), and the Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID), is delighted to announce that the TIMB3R Design Incubator Programme (DIP) 3.0 will be at the Reka Interior Exhibition (RiX) 2023, which is being held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from today till 29 October 2023.
Building on the success of its previous editions, TIMB3R DIP 3.0, with the theme “Innovation Meets Sustainability” is set to redefine the boundaries of sustainable design and craftsmanship in the timber and furniture industry.
In a remarkable move towards sustainability, TIMB3R DIP 3.0 has embraced the concept of eco-friendliness. This includes collaborating with Rubio Monocoat, a renowned sustainable wood coating company as a partner for the programme. This commitment to sustainability not only aligns with global efforts to protect the environment but also positions Malaysia as one of the leading countries that advocate for responsible practices within the industry.
One of the distinguishing features of TIMB3R DIP 3.0 is its collaboration with one of Malaysia’s top institutions for art and design education, The One Academy (TOA). The TOA’s contribution lies in the final phase of the programme, where they bring their expertise to style the completed products. By partnering with this prestigious institution, the TIMB3R DIP 3.0 aims to infuse a fresh wave of creativity by involving younger designers, while enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal. The involvement of TOA underscores TIMB3R DIP’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of designers and seamlessly blending aesthetics with sustainability.
MTC Chief Executive Officer Puan Noraihan Abdul Rahman, expressed her enthusiasm for the Programme, saying, “TIMB3R DIP 3.0 marks a significant evolution in the country’s timber and furniture design.
