Kuala Lumpur, 27 November – EDOTCO, a leading regional integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company, today announced a significant milestone in its commitment to advancing Malaysia’s digital landscape. In a major step forward for the nation’s 5G vision, EDOTCO has successfully enabled 500 of its existing 4G towers with 5G connectivity in 2023.
Since 2021, EDOTCO has played a crucial role in the expansion of 5G infrastructure in Malaysia, completing the largest number of 5G sites in the country. EDOTCO has constructed 1,695 sites nationwide. This substantial contribution underscores EDOTCO’s commitment to and capability in supporting Malaysia’s 5G rollout. This achievement reflects its strong commitment in supporting the Government’s objective of achieving 80% 5G coverage in populated areas nationwide by year-end, through Digital Nasional Berhad.
The enablement of these 500 4G towers with 5G connectivity signifies EDOTCO’s focus on future-proofing its infrastructure, ensuring that the networks are ready to meet the evolving demands of next-generation technology.
