Kuala Lumpur, 10 November 2021 – foodpanda Malaysia is greatly encouraged with the Government’s direction in the 2022 Budget tabled by the Ministry of Finance on Friday.
Sayantan Das, foodpanda Malaysia’s Managing Director said, “It would be an honour to be able to continue working hand in hand with our Government in championing the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), through the Go-E-commerce and Shop Malaysia Online initiatives. In the past year alone together with the support of the government, we were able to assist more than 20,000 new entrepreneurs from the B40 category.”
He added, ”We also look forward to the initiatives such as Program Baucar Perlindungan Tenang, the Program E-Start and Jamin Kerja Keluarga Malaysia amongst others that will help benefit our existing and potential partners, providing them with insurance coverage, seed money and incentivise employer’s like us to employ the hardest hit section of the population.”
“With the elimination of SST, this will then translate to a lower transaction cost for all stakeholders within the ecosystem,” said Sayantan.
In the past year, we have partnered closely with the government to assist and grow MSME’s and SME’s in Malaysia and will continue this partnership in the upcoming year. We fully support the Malaysian Government and are committed to work together to achieve our common identified goal which is to build and grow the local economy by creating job opportunities for all.
