Phase 4 of National Recovery Plan a Boon to Businesses as Customers Return to Mall
Cheras, 9 November 2021 – It has been a rough 20 months for most retailers since the Covid-19 pandemic started. Shopping malls that were once popular meeting hubs were suddenly devoid of shoppers as the country locked itself down to contain the virus.
Nevertheless, as recovery is in sight with the rise of vaccination numbers and ease of restrictions, the first rays of sunshine seem to have finally penetrated the dark clouds.
For BMC Mall, the opening of four new tenants, namely Starbucks, A&W, Believe Fitness, and BMI Cendol, herald signs of a positive future outlook as shoppers return to the mall. Coupled with the reopening of existing tenants including Zheng Palace, Kunzense by Beaumedic, and Mr Grab, the mall once more prepares itself a return to normalcy following months of dormancy as many other retail hubs.
“While we’ve definitely become more cautious in terms of our operations and events, our team has remained resilient and strived towards transforming the mall to be a destination that serves both the functional and social requirements of the local community here in Bandar Mahkota Cheras,” said Sylvia Low, General Manager of BMC Mall, who also added that the mall is optimistic that businesses will improve now that the state has transitioned into phase four of the NRP.
“We hope that the opening of these new outlets are a source of comfort and reassurance to shoppers, and even retailers, that business at BMC Mall is capable of weathering any adversity that comes its way, as long as we continue to push against the odds strategically.”
