HeARTbeat Gallery showcases 16 artworks produced by artists with disabilities
Singapore, 15 February 2024 – Today, leading materials engineering solutions company Applied Materials South East Asia and the North East Community Development Council (NECDC) unveiled HeARTbeat Gallery, a showcase of artworks as part of NECDC’s Shaping Hearts program.
HeARTbeat Gallery, which is located at the reception area of the Applied Materials South East Asia building, currently holds 16 artworks from artists with disabilities – Genine Tham, Bobby Yeo, Lim Kim Lye, Ng Siang Hoi, and Vincent Seet. The company is currently organizing an auction of the artworks, where 100% of the proceeds will be going towards the Shaping Hearts program and the artists.

Shaping Hearts, Singapore’s largest inclusive arts festival, aims to increase awareness and support for artists with disabilities and the larger special needs community. In its sixth instalment this year, apart from showcasing the works of the special needs community at Our Tampines Hub for a period of two weeks, NECDC has for the first time ever partnered with a corporate organization to create a designated space in their office to showcase the artworks. The goal is to provide organizations like Applied Materials with a platform to reinforce their brand values of doing good and supporting the community. This involvement in inclusive arts acts as a bridge, connecting like-minded communities, sparking conversations, and fostering relationships that can evolve into enduring partnerships.
In Singapore, Applied Materials South East Asia has been supporting a number of community programs in the North East since 2014. HeARTbeat Gallery will be a long-term showcase of artworks which will remain on display until a new batch of artworks created as part of Shaping Hearts are brought in.
