R U Tough Enough? Southeast Asia Crowns Malaysian Mohd Saddam Toughest in the Region!

Saddam Beats 21 Other Finalists to Win USD15,000 Grand Prize!

Kuala Lumpur (December 3, 2018) – Malaysians have indeed proven to be the toughest in Southeast Asia! KIX HD (Astro Ch 729), the ultimate destination for action entertainment in Asia, and Fisherman’s Friend has crowned army officer Mohd Saddam bin Mohd Pittli the “Toughest in Southeast Asia” after a gruelling showdown between 22 finalists from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam in R U Tough Enough? Southeast Asia. He walked home with the grand prize of US$15,000 (RM62,438) and an experience that will last a lifetime.

The R U Tough Enough? Southeast Asia Final Showdown, held at the Orange Concourse at Sunway Pyramid recently, truly challenged and pushed the finalists to the limit, testing not only their physical strength but also their mental endurance and emotional resilience.

Citing his wife as his ultimate supporter, 27-year-old Saddam said: “I was very happy to the point of tearing when they announced my name! I have won many marathons and races but this felt very different; this means so much to me. I intend to use the prize money to buy equipment to start mini bootcamps to help Malaysians who wish to live healthier lifestyles.”

“It has truly been exciting to see the overwhelming response R U Tough Enough? Southeast Asia has received from this region in the last few months, which culminated in the Final Showdown. Most of them have truly inspiring tough backgrounds, having overcome various challenges in life to be where they are today, and these are the kinds of real-life tough stories that KIX HD is committed to offering our audiences in this region,” said Betty Tsui, Vice President, Programming of KIX HD. “The finale was such a tough and close fight, and this is testament of how tough Southeast Asians really are. We are so proud of Mohd Saddam as he truly exemplifies what ‘toughness’ really means physically, mentally and emotionally, and we congratulate him for achieving this success.”
